Stress is the body’s natural response to change, challenge, or perceived danger. This response, commonly known as the “fight-or-flight” mechanism, has been hardwired into our biology for survival and in moments of acute stress, the body floods with hormones like cortisol and adrenaline to prepare us for action. However, prolonged exposure to stress hormones has been linked to high blood pressure, sleep disorders, digestive issues, anxiety and even depression.
